A belief in things not seen. I’m hearing from progressives who understand that if we want to communicate our hopes and values to Americans, we can’t abandon the field of religious discourse. The profound mistake of Reverend Wright’s sermons is not that he spoke about racism in our society. We cannot impose peace. Many more are simply skeptical that real change can occur.
It is not up in heaven. And yet Al Qaeda chose to ruthlessly murder these people, claimed credit for the attack, and even now states their determination to kill on a massive scale. We seek no military bases there. The United States does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements. Our daughters can contribute just as much to society as our sons, and our common prosperity will be advanced by allowing all humanity – men and women – to reach their full potential.
who are losing their union jobs at the Maytag plant that’s moving to Mexico, and now are having to compete with their own children for jobs that pay seven bucks an hour. But it does find voice in the barbershop or around the kitchen table. People in every country should be free to choose and live their faith based upon the persuasion of the mind, heart, and soul. We have the power to make the world we seek, but only if we have the courage to make a new beginning, keeping in mind what has been written.
My father was a foreign student, born and raised in a small village in Kenya. For we have learned from recent experience that when a financial system weakens in one country, prosperity is hurt everywhere.
